Would you pay 399 dollars if you could travel at wholesale prices and obtain travel agents discounts/upgrades?

James M asked:

The travel membership is a one time fee. The company offers travel packages throughout the year. For example, a trip to Playa Del Carmen for 5 days and 4 nights for 599 per person. This includes room, food, and airfare from DFW.

I guess it depends how much you plan to travel. If you are only taking one trip a year, it may not be worth it. But if you plan to take several vacations throughout the year, that certainly would seem like a good deal and well worth the 399…

Also you have to determine just how good these package deals really are. Sometimes they seem great but really are no big deal, and other times you might be saving a heck of alot.

Nope. I’d rather work with a local travel agent who can learn my travel preferences, and shop prices for me. The 599 cruise you mention doesn’t sound such good value. If you don’t like using travel agents, then save yourself over $400 and learn how to research and book your own travel online. It can save you a bundle. This one sources is outstanding for cruises, air, hotel, cars, vacations, and specials:
